About DanFish International
There has, since 1974 with 2-3 year intervals been held fisheries exhibitions in Aalborg. Aalborg is geographically the center for over half of the registered Danish fishermen. The exhibition has always been marketed as "The fishermen's own exhibition". The exhibition is targeted both at the industry's large as well as small providers, and focuses primarily on equipment for the fisherman, his boat and fishing gear. With the name change to DanFish International in 1996 the international aim was increased and the development has continued ever since.
Already in 1994, there are ongoing cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through embassies and consulatedto provide foreign visitors to the exhibition. This work was intensified in 1996, where it changed its name to the internationally more euphonious name "DanFish International" and around half a million DKK were set to stake for these visits. It was a success, with participating delegations from 16 countries, totalling about 140 persons.
Since 2007, the invited buyers are identified in collaboration with the Danish Export Association and in 2011 the foreign delegations consisted of approximately 100 persons from 25 countries.
At all exhibitions the stand area, which today is around 9,000 m2, has been sold out. Due to an increased number of exhibitors it has been necessary to expand the exhibition space, namely with a 4,000 m2 mobile hall next to Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center.
Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center is one of Scandinavia's largest and most flexible culture, congress and exhibition centres and benefits from an unusual depth of experience in planning and hosting exhibitions.
Since 1974, when the first fisheries exhibition took place, the interests of the industry's hands-on fishermen have been at the forefront including equipment for the fisherman himself and his boat including catching equipment.
A further 10-12 exhibitions are held every year at Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center which is renowned for it's professionalism and exceptional standards of service. Both new and established exhibitors can rest assured - they're in good hands!
